Wellness : Key to Self Development

I was thinking on what should I write for this weeks article and I felt I should write on something I resonate a lot and which has helped me grow both personally and professionally. Today, I am not sharing a training technique or something related to the industry trends, but I am going to share about what I have been doing to be physically and mentally fit and strong.

Wellness refers to a way of life. It includes being fit both mentally and physically. I never understood this till a few years back when I started my journey towards wellness. This includes the ability to be strong under any circumstance.

I thought ” International Yoga Day” is the right time for me to share a few secrets that has helped me to stay physically, mentally and emotionally strong.

  1. Always get up with a smile on your face.
  2. Have a glass of warm water as the first thing in the morning . This helps clear your system and gives you time to plan your day.
  3. Exercise everyday for at least 30 minutes. It may just be brisk walk around the house but doing it essential.
  4. Listen to your favorite prayer / Chant your morning prayers. I start my day listening to “Suprabhatam”. Hearing this for the first 20 mins of the morning makes me relax , calm and composed.
  5. Don’t let failures hamper your positive spirits. “Letting Go” is something I have been trying to practice and it has really helped me .
  6. Stay connected with your family and friends. I regularly do video calls and keep in touch with family.

Let’s all pray and hope that we recover from this deadly pandemic soon and we return to the world where we could meet people and socialize, go out for shopping , have brunch with friends and children could play in the sand pit.
