Change is inevitable

COVID is over and companies are now asking their employees to return to the office. This is a change in the mindset of both employers and employees. During the two-year COVID phase, employees got used to working from home in a relaxed atmosphere at their own comfort, but now they have to head back to the physical workspace. This is truly a change. Here, change is not only in terms of space and time but also in terms of mentally being prepared to embrace the change.

Employers too have recruited workforce from different parts of the country and for all of them, moving to the main office location does require acceptance to change. Many organizations to retain employees are offering Hybrid work options but a lot of them are pampering employees who are coming to work and motivating the workforce.

Change is inevitable and a part of life. What is important is how we accept the change and find methods to deal with it. Change impacts both our personal and professional life. In our personal life we accept it, but when it hampers our professional life, we find it difficult to accept it as well as be part of the change. But those who deal with change smilingly and accept it in a positive manner find it easier to embrace it.

From a professional stand point we can understand the entire change management process. But what is important is implementing it as part of our daily routine.

Plan : In this stage we make a list of all the things that are going to change and plan out how we can cope with it.

Improve: Here once we plan we try to use techniques and tools to see if we can improvise said plan.

Execute: In this stage we execute the plan

Measure: Here we measure the effectiveness of the plan in helping us cope with change.

Engage: Finally, we engage through discussions with everyone experiencing the change and help them cope.

The above is a system we can use to adapt to change and live a happy life.
