Most workplaces are now geared to having their workforce back to office. All of them seem to be following the hybrid work culture with only 50% of the workforce being present at work each day. But are we geared to keep up to the expectations of our employees? Have we made our HR policies more employee friendly to cater to the need of the current business demands?
The following are a few things companies must be aware of and be prepared for before starting to open up their work spaces.
- Safety of official documents and data.
- Safety of employees
- Managing employee shifts for various projects to meet the expectations of clients and employees.
- Sanitization of the complete office premise every 2 hours.
- Break out zones where employees can be without their masks for a few minutes.
- Ensuring that there are no gatherings of employees in office premise.
- Security checks would become more crucial
- Contingency plan if any employee gets tested positive.
- Updating of office medical kit and availability of immediate medical help
- Dividing breaks into specific time slot to avoid crowding in the cafeteria
- Marking workstations and chairs which should not be used to ensure social distancing of employees.
- Posters in office common areas on importance of wearing mask at all times as well as sanitizing hands regularly.
I have just stated a few measures. I am sure that all organizations are making their own action plans. But, what is important is to ensure that you follow all Covid protocols strictly and we again start making a work a fun and happy place for employees to feel excited, encouraged and safe to come back to work.
