Value Your Self

A lot of times, in the hustle and bustle of life we tend to forget ourselves. It may be that we are occupied with our career or family. We tend to forget our true self and over a period of time are lost. What I have realized is that in order to keep yourself fit both mentally and physically we need to everyday have some “Me time”. This time one must use to do things they are passionate about and make them happy. This leads to the release of positive endorphins in the body making you relaxed, calm and composed.

I would like to share a few things that I follow as a regime everyday.

  1. Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning. This helps in getting the bad toxins out of your body and makes you feel fresh .
  2. I spend the first 30 mins- 1 hour in the morning as my “Me time”.
  3. I spend at least 30 mins in a day doing exercise.
  4. I am an optimist and I always have a positive attitude to life.

Having a self-care routine has been proven to  help reduce anxiety, depression, frustration and anger. It helps improve energy levels, increase happiness, improve concentration, boost your immune system and become more productive. It means doing all the things required to take care of your health and well being.

In these times where all of us are working from home, having some quiet time will give you the opportunity to dwell and introspect. It would give you the space for you to schedule and prioritize your activities. It would help you make time for things you want to pursue as a hobby. This in turn would help us deal with life’s challenges in a more relaxed and calm way.
