Leadership through Action

All of us often hear that Leadership is about building the right team. Yes, I do agree that having the right team is a crucial ingredient but another secret ingredient is the ability to inspire your team by your action. If as a leader you behave, act, communicate and demonstrate your passion for the business, the team will inculcate the same value system and strive for success.

So what are the necessary things one must do to ensure that your team follows suit.

  1. Punctuality: Having respect for your time is essential. It helps you manage your time efficiently and plan for meetings and events in advance.
  2. Trust: You must have complete trust in all your team members and support them when needed.
  3. Communication: You must have clear and open communication with your team and every team member should feel comfortable.
  4. Fitness: You must be fit and also inspire all members to keep themselves physically fit. This would help them be mentally strong and give 100% focus on work.
  5. Bonding: Team bonding must be very high. As a leader the way way you interact and share a friendly bond with all team members will have an impact on the belongingness in the team.

Thus leaders become successful by their own actions. As a leader I am responsible to inspire my team and motivate them to achieve team goals. If I follow some basic discipline in my professional life it would in turn have a ripple effect on my team too.
